House Sitting for Pets Near You

A sitter stays overnight in your home and cares for your pets there — the option for dogs who do badly away from home, multi-pet households and cats. This is paid pet care by a vetted local sitter, not a free house-swap or home-exchange arrangement.

How house sitting works on SitterNation

Pick a house sitter, share your pets' routine and the house basics, and send a request for your dates. After a meet-and-greet the sitter moves in for the stay; you pay in the app and get updates every day.

Are the sitters vetted?

Yes. Every SitterNation sitter completes identity verification, a safety course with a quiz, and a profile review by the SitterNation team before they can accept bookings. Reviews come from pet owners after completed bookings.

Can I book instantly?

Not yet. You send a booking request with your dates; the sitter accepts (most offer a meet-and-greet first) and you pay securely in the app. Our sitters are in the Chicago suburbs today, and we are expanding to new metros.
